The Neptunian urge is always seeking the ideal
Mentally, having a practical ideal for living is important, as per the Edgar Cayce material on the subject of ideals. Therefore you have to give it an aim — a vision for your life and what you will do in the world.
If it is something that simultaneously contributes to others and betters your own life it is a purposeful spiritual vision. If its all about you, it is not an ideal, but an ambition.
Remember, Neptune is trans-personal
It is about how we mesh with what is outside us in the world of pure consciousness, dreams … molding, melding, merging, creating.
Having a life vision or setting an ideal may not produce an immediately visible change, but it helps us focus our spiritual urge for the ideal and unity in a practical manner.
When we develop a vision that gives us a purposeful orientation, our imaginative activities now have something important to grab hold of, which means less meandering daydreaming. It means more quiet exploration of How can I help others with this aim … and How do I bring this about … and What steps do I take …
It creates a unity between the need to aim for and obtain the ideal, and the day-to-day practical side of us that too easily becomes task-oriented if not spiritually guided.
If your Neptunian tendencies manifest mostly as anxiety, insecurity, self-doubt, believing too easily in something outside yourself to soothe your fears … then getting grounded effectively gets first priority.
When we are grounded fully, others cannot spoon feed us their contagious fear.
A cleansing of toxic beliefs may also take top priority
Ask yourself objectively What has mesmerized me? What holds sway over me? What beliefs, stories, prophecies create apprehension for me?
But let’s be clear — the ability to escape for a little while on a regular basis, to be ‘hypnotized’ by visual entertainment, music, stories, is a healthy thing. That ability to suspend the task-oriented, problem-solving mind is important for de-activating the active ‘doing’ sympathetic nervous system (Mercury, Mars) and letting the more passive parasympathetic nervous system bring us rest and healing.
It is all about balance.
