Well, he’s going to continue to have some serious challenges and remain in the news. Pluto is simultaneously parallel his Ascendant (“I am” point) and Midheaven (“I shall accomplish” point). This is because he has one of those rather unique charts in which his Asc and MC (Midheaven) are both at about 19° south declination. This is someone who identifies themselves completely with their work. But when Pluto hits those points together, personal problems follow problems at work and vice versa.
Pluto is the king toppler and if one doesn’t respond with compromise and some flexibility, others can seem to overpower you. Let’s look at what shows in his birth tendencies.
Venus is at the Ascendant in Aquarius. This is love, vanity, the entertainer. Aquarius lends one to relating to groups or diverse people more easily than to individuals and it shows in his 5 marriages. Venus in Aquarius at the Ascendant casts one’s values and affection broadly.
There are two other planets in the 1st house that can exacerbate ego issues, Mars and Jupiter. Mars is opposite Pluto in the 7th house and this is indicative of someone who needs competition to affirm their ego and sense of self-importance. The need for enemies and the demonizing of others is a negative manifestation common to this opposition aspect.
In his birth chart Mars and Pluto are square the Midheaven (MC) and this is where the potential for trouble may unfold. For Pluto is now making angular, challenging aspects to points in his birth chart (including a semi-square), adding to the potential for conflicts and opposition seen there. Pluto has also come opposite the planet in his birth chart that is the principle behind his Aquarius rising sign – Uranus.
But there will be a reprieve soon. Jupiter will move opposite his Midheaven (career point) in May. A bluster of words and overreaching statements amounting to outright slander and insults at Sandra Fluke began during Jupiter’s passing square to his Ascendant, but if he doesn’t overplay his hand he’ll have a window open up for some resolve in mid-May. Sun and Jupiter line up opposite his Midheaven on May 14-15th. Maybe it will be mostly time to get away and escape the pressure of it all. (Venus moving through 5th house of recreation). But if he’s not careful and gives in to more bluster and overconfidence it could set him up for further troubles.
It is important to remember that Rush is an entertainer. He only ever wanted to do radio. Its his passion. If push comes to shove he’ll do what it takes to keep it by being repentant enough or by obtaining a new deal elsewhere. My bet is on the ego. Its paid him too well.
However, eventually the misogynistic sentiments will catch up with him, particularly after continued and unrelenting public opposition. Unfortunately for him the window is opening up for more relational stress as a result of these things. As Pluto moves further south to make a parallel to Venus in his birth chart, Saturn will be moving into early Scorpio around the 2012 election, squaring the horizon of his chart. This signifies a moment of personal defeat, even possible separation from his partner.
Pluto was exactly conjunct Mercury in his birth chart on inauguration day 2009, a moment of saying goodbye to former President George W. Bush. When Pluto is parallel both Venus and Mercury in his birth chart (2014) it will likely be time to say goodbye to someone else in his life.
Maybe this won’t happen and he’ll transform, learning something about himself and tapping into some deeper sense of justice that goes beyond his ego. But maybe that’s not the point. Rush, as a cultural figure, is a projection of our own attitudes and values, a glad embodiment of them, wrapped up in “lovable little fuzzball” sheep’s clothing. Maybe what matters is what WE learn about ourselves from what HE has said.
Pluto, god of the underworld, is the cosmic agent of our own personal and collective unconscious, all the stuff we keep hidden inside that we deny or refuse to see for what it is. The desire to dominate, possess, lord it over others, to be absolutely “right.”

The popular chart for Rush as seen on astrodatabank shows ruler Uranus in 6th house. This should be a clear signal for rectification since Rush never wanted to do anything but radio broadcasting, signified by Uranus in the 5th ruled by Gemini, not the 6th ruled by Cancer. His long career as a radio entertainer going back to the 1980s should be strong enough evidence for this by itself.
The Asc adjustment in this case is not arbitrary, nor based on a singular planetary/house factor.
